Okay, so it’s no secret that I’ve been looking forward to that episode ever since we heard there was going to be a Pythagoras-centric episode. Having watched it a few times (actually, four times in three days at this point!), I thought I’d share a few thoughts about the episode and the characters in general. Oh, and there might be a little bit of squeeing.

Needless to say, there are massive spoilers for episode 8, and some spoilers for episode 6 as well.

I just found this article in the Guardian online about fanfiction, mostly with reference to Fifty Shades, but with a general overview of 'the history' of fanfiction.

I don't agree with several points made in it (and neither do several of the people who have commented on it so far!), but it's worth a read.

Recently I've been having some quite intersting discussions with Munchkinofdoom re the change between S1 and S2 with Connor, and the sudden appearance of his techie computer and engineering skills. Leaving aside how much you take canon at face value for the use of these skills (which myself and Munchkin do entirely disagree about), I've been thinking about the reasons behind the changes, and why they were so radical.

These are just my thoughts, and I thought it would be interesting to throw them out for discussion. What do you guys think?
