Just squeaking in before the deadline, here's one more Atlantis

hc_bingo fic. This fic was originally intended to be written for the Major Character Death Fest, but that got cancelled, but then I got 'Mercy Killing' on my round seven h/c bingo card which fitted the idea perfectly so I went ahead and wrote it anyway.

I'm still not sure about the title, but I've literally spent the last two hours staring at an otherwise completed fic trying to think of a title, and I'm running out of time before the deadline so I pretty much gave up.

This fic came about because when they are all saying goodbye at the end of the episode, Pythagoras and Shabaka share a lengthy hug, and I wondered what might have happened between them to have necessitated such an affectionate farewell.

I have to admit I’ve had the idea for cyborg!Pythagoras for ages; it was originally inspired by

girlwhowasnt, and the awesome Ariadne Ascending vid. However, it was only yesterday at the last minute that I had the idea to turn it into an episode 1.8 AU. And then it grew a plot. Why, brain?

All screencaps taken from episode 1.8 – The Furies, and most of the dialogue has been taken from that episode and tweaked a bit.

So, I was completely uninspired for fic with my

hc_bingo postage stamp prompts this year, but did have a rather good (if rather horrible!) idea for a wallpaper using Medusa's story.

So, my prompts were Isolation, Cages, Head Trauma, and wild card Cursed. I may have taken a slightly liberal approach to the interpretation of 'head trauma'...

Poor Pythagoras, whumped again. But for a change, this fic is all about the comfort and less about the hurt, so that's probably an improvement on most of the other h/c bingo fics I've written this year. Probably.
