hc_bingo is meta, so I decided to do a little analysis of slavery as depicted in the TV show Atlantis, as compared with real world slavery in ancient Greece, and also slavery as it appears in Greek mythology.

I may have got slightly carried away...

Unsurprisingly, it fills the 'Slaves' prompt on my hurt/comfort bingo card.

Back in January in the team fest Ryan squee thread, there was much discussion comparing Becker with Ryan, and it has to be said Becker generally came out worst. So, for this fest I decided to take a closer look at Becker's role as a Special Forces captain, provide a few comparisons with Ryan, and also look at the way Primeval treats the military in a more general sense.

Well, here we go again! This time it's an episode by episode meta for Connor Temple, and, as suspected it's going to be a biggie. The word count so far is almost 7000 words, and I've only done the first three episodes!

Anyway, let's begin at the beginning, and see where it all started for the other one of the only two characters to have appeared in every single episode of Primeval.

Well, it can't have escaped anyone's notice that the July fest on Denial has started. So, with that in mind, this seems like a convenient stopping point to take a break from the Abby meta for a while, since I expect everyone's f-lists are going to be full enough over the next few weeks.

For anyone who is interested in such things, I'm currently up to episode 5.1, and the total word count, from episode 1.1 to 5.1 currently stands at 60,100 words. Um... yeah. The next time I decide it's a good idea to do a complete, episode by episode meta of one of the only two characters to have appeared in *every single episode*, someone stop me. Oh, wait.... ;-)

Anyway, thanks so much to everyone who has been reading and commenting so far. I have to admit, the latter stages have turned into something of a slog, but it's really helped to know that people are enjoying it, and finding it useful. That, and a small degree of sheer bloody-minded, 'I've started so I'll finish!'

To cut a long story short, the Abby meta will resume in August.

Firstly, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been following and commenting so far.

Secondly, I've been posting pretty frequently for the last couple of weeks in an attempt to get as much posted during the April team fest as possible. Now, however, I'm intending to slow the pace down a little, probably no more than two or three posts a week, mostly to avoid spamming people, but also to allow me time to catch up with actually writing the rest of it, as I've still got all of series four and five to do at the moment.

In other news, the total word count has now hit 38,000, and at the current average word count per episode, I'm beginning to suspect it may end up somewhere in the region of 50 - 60,000 by the time it's finished. *flails*
