            “I don’t do romance. I don’t do soppy. And I certainly don’t do public displays of affection,” Becker had warned at the start of their relationship.

            Three months later, Connor snuggled into Becker’s lap, and pointedly looked at the remains of their candlelit dinner, and the half finished bottle of wine and box of chocolates.

            “What was it you said about romance?” Connor teased.

            “You and your bloody puppy eyes,” Becker grumbled as he nuzzled Connor’s throat. “I’m not budging on the subject of public affection,” he added.   

Connor just smiled knowingly.

He gave that resolution another month, at most.
