          Claudia collapsed onto the sofa with a glass of wine. Another crisis averted, another mountain of reports filed. She deserved a quiet night.

            The phone was tempting. She wanted to call Nick. She even had a perfectly legitimate excuse – they could discuss the reports. On second thoughts, official reports were probably the least sexy topic of conversation ever. What pretext could she-

            The phone rang.

            “Nick…” she smiled. For a moment. “Connor…? Another one…? Where…? Yes, of course, I’ll be there soon.”

            Claudia hung up with a sigh. So much for the quiet night. She really had to be more careful what she wished for.

now now, Claudia, you need to use the reports as placemats for whatever you're serving for dinner...and depending on your you present yourself, Nick will no doubt see the reports as being very sexy (by association, naturally)

this was a great fun drabble...though I can't quite expell the thought that, maybe, just maybe, Connor's trying to play matchmaker. ;D

Or if he was having an attack of 'oblivious-male' and completely failed to spot her intentions, he would probably just start nit-picking all the scientific bits of the reports that he didn't have a hand in writing!

Indeed, poor Claudia.

(And go me! Another icon for N/C fics. Now I Just have to remember to keep changing the icon when I reply to comments on differnet threads. easier said than done - my LJ is starting to look like lottery-icon! (as in - you never know what you're going to get!))

Nick/Claudia was the pairing that got me writing primeval fic in the first place. Poor Claudia, but at least now she'll get to see Nick if there's an anomaly.

True, it's a very good excuse to see Nick, but I think she was more hoping for wine and a cosy chat rather than being chased by long extinct creatures with him. Poor Claudia.
