Atlantis wallpaper - Marked

Another hc_bingo wallpaper. This one fills the 'Branding' square on my hurt/comfort bingo card.

And that makes BINGO!!! Four corners and the centre square bingo, to be precise. And a Steadfast Achievement (all fills in a bingo in one fandom - Atlantis), and a Single Media Achievement (all fills in a bingo in the same media - art). Yes, that's why I've been making so many wallpapers lately when the prompt could have been far more easily filled with a fic. There was method behind my madness, honest!. \o/

Jason has broken the laws of Atlantis one too many times, and on this occasion no amount of bravery or heroics will get him out of receiving punishment - Atlantis style. All that his friends can do for him is get him home and take care of him in the aftermath.

Oh DEAR. POOR Jason. How awful for him. Do you think they'll do this in S2? That would be very terrible indeed, obviously.

Poor Jason, this did get rather nastier than I had originally envisioned. The flogging as well was a late addition because it was easier than trying to do a branding scar.

I realised today that actually there's been fairly equal opportunities whumping of the boys. I had expected them to mostly be Pythagoras!whumping, but this bingo has two Py!whumping, two Jason!whumping, and one Hercules. Obviously this means I must try harder to hurt Pythagoras... *evil grin*

Thanks! Poor Jason indeed. This one was particularly nasty, but there's really no nice way to do that prompt in a visual way, I think.

I've heard the same rumour about series 2 being a bit darker and more 'adult' themes. It'll be interesting to see exactly what they mean by that. Much as I like the idea of less silly slapstick, I hope they don't lose too much of the humour and camaraderie, because that's one of the nice things about the show.

Yeah, I really love the humor and light-heartedness (although fewer fat jokes would definitely be nice), and I'd hate to see them lose it. TBH, I'm most afraid that the show will go the route of Merlin, darker and darker and killing characters, and I'll end up hating it. :(

Yes, less fat jokes and silly slapstick would be good. More character death and angst and dark themes *every episode* would be less good, unless they were balancing that with the humour and friendship stuff as well.

Poor Jason! I am honestly surprised that he hasn't been punished before now because he does run a foul of the royals quite often.

Yes, it's surely only a matter of time before Jason gets properly punished for something. The number of times in series 1 that he has stolen something, or wrecked traders' property as he went crashing through the marketplace, or was chased by the city guards for something. And he is quite famous, what with the whole minotaur killing and several high profile appearances in the arena. It shouldn't be that hard for people to track him down if they decide they genuinely want him brought to justice for something he's done.

Lol! I suspect a branding icon might have limited usage opportunities... ;-)

I am actually feeling quite pleased with myself - branding was one of the set of four h/c prompts that I wasn't keen on doing when I first got the card. Along with Heart Trouble, Deals with Demons and Waterboarding. Of those four, I've filled them all except Waterboarding now!
