Written for the Primeval100 challenge 150 - Bedtime Stories. Bloody hell, this is the first challenge drabble I've written in 2010, and it's *not* about Connor!

          His father’s stories were always of soldiers and heroes and family history. The Falklands and the Somme were as familiar to the boy as Narnia was to his school-friends.

            Once, he dared to interrupt a story about his grandfather.

            “Please Daddy, can you read from my book instead?”

            His father eyed the spaceship on the cover, and tossed it aside.

            “Fantasy rubbish,” he declared dismissively. “I won’t have you wasting your time with this kind of thing.            

The little boy knew better than to argue. There was no room for childish daydreams in the Becker household.
