Doctor Who, Casualty, and random stuff

Okay, first thoughts on tonight's tv. Posted behind the cut as there are *major* spoilers for Doctor Who, and minor ramblings and speculation about Casualty.

Firstly:

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... (pauses for breath) oooooooooooooooooooooooooo..........

They'd better bloody not have got rid of Martha. My favourite companion by a long way, far better than Rose. If she's not brought back in series four I'll be severely pissed off.

Secondly:

Great episode (apart from above mentioned travesty of getting rid of Martha). It made me cry, which is not what you expect from a Saturday night Doctor Who. Although I probably shouldn't be surprised as that was the second episode in series three that has made me cry (the other was the fantastic 'family of blood'). In my opinion, series three has far surpassed one and two in storylines, chemistry between Doctor and Companion, and quite frankly David Tennant's acting has been, well, I don't think words exist in the English language for me to describe how much I've loved watching him act this series.  Love it. Absolutely love it.

Thirdly:

John Simm. Great acting, loved his bad guy thing. He *so* looked like he was enjoying himself a whole lot in that part. And I'm sorry, but *how* slashy was that death scene getting with the Master and the Doctor? I seriously thought for a moment that the Doctor was going to kiss him, they were *that* close. Maybe I've just been reading too much Primeval, Doctor Who and Torchwood slashfic, but come on. That was just getting too close to the edge of Saturday night TV. Not that I'm complaining too much, but I suspect if they cut much closer the show might get banned, regardless of how good it is.

Fourthly:

Jack!?!   Face of Bo!?!   WTF!?!

Onto other things. Does anyone else watch Casualty? If they do, is it just me (and again, see above comment about reading too much slash fic for other shows) but is anyone else getting worried about Stitch and Guppy?

In other news, today I was at the Lowdham Book Festival. It was okay, but the turnout was rather low due to the excessive rain, and I suspect most of the people who were browsing round the stall were actually just coming into the tent to get out of said rain.

On the plus side, I found a second hand book about dinosaurs for £3.00. Not bad to say it was a hardback, and okay, it was published in 1962, which means my favourite dinosaur hadn't even been discovered at that point, but it has lots of really cool line drawings of fossils and bones and skeletons, and lists and definitions of dinosaur identification by species and genus and family and infraorder and suborder and all that sort of stuff (which I've probably just got wrong because I'm not a biologist) and stuff that modern books don't have because they thinks that such things aren't cool and popular and people don't actually want hard scientific facts and information in their books (but that's another rant about dumbing down for another day).

They should just broadcast the show after the watershed, and then we could have all the lovely things that would make us slashers happy. I seriously thought for a split second that he was going to kiss him too. They could have least had a peck on the forehead to show the angst and the forgiveness.

Or (alternate scenario), we could just have a uncut version on BBC3 later in the evening...

Definitely. We *so* need a post-watershed version of Doctor Who, with all the slash and inuendo and adult content. I suspose that was the point of Torchwood, but then Torchwood just doesn't have that essential element of David Tennant's Doctor that we want in our slashfic.
