Not saving Cutter was definitely one of Becker's worst failures. Of course it needed to happen for the plot, and it was more dramatically appropriate for Connor to be with him at the end, but it would have looked better for Becker if they could have found a genuine reason for him to not be there at that moment, such as having him injured, or obviously dealing with something else.
