As I mentioned to Kristen_Mara, I think that we are supposed to believe that in this timeline they have all left their previous jobs and are working full time at the ARC now. Presumably they wouldn't go to all the expense of buying and equiping the ARC building if the core team were a bunch of part-timers coming in an out at all hours.
Certainly there is never any mention of the zoo or the university any more, and I suspect when Connor tells Caroline he is a student, and Abby tells Jack she works in a zoo, they are both just cover stories.
